Want to Move up from CD30 to CD36

I own a 1981 CD30 cutter (hull #205) and am considering moving up to a CD36. I'd like to know if certain years had less gelcoat cracking problems than other years. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to buying a CD36 manufactured in a specific year? What sort of variation is there in boats manufactured in different years?
