Cape Dory 28 cruiser-trawler

I've recently purchased a 1985 which was used as a lobster boat by the first owner who took the starboard side of the cabin off and installed a pot hauler;this gap is now covered by a well done canvaswith plastic window. However, I would like to restore the side- Does anyone know if molds exist and who has them?

Try Robinhood yachts in Maine. They have a website but I can't seem to find it right now. They are using the 28s' hull mold now.

Glad to hear the mold still exist. I had heard it was lost. Good news!

Saw Robinhood @ Norwalk CT Boat Show. When I half-jokingly complained about the demise of the CD28, they indicated that they had no plans to build one. I believe they are marketing either the 30 or 33 under the Robinhood name. At the same show I spoke with Nauset Marine. They indicated that THEY had purchased the 28 mold and, instead of using it, were going to stick with their own 28 hull configuration(a bit beamier). Good luck with the cruiser. Color me green.
