This bulletin board, hosted by the CDSOA, Inc., is the on-line meeting place for all Cape Dory owners and groups. We welcome everyone's questions, answers and comments about Cape Dory sailboat
Hey Dick, nice to hear that you are joining us in retirement and I hope you are going to stay busy. I tried it for 2 years but then got bored and went back to a lower level job to fill the time when I couldn't sail.
If you decide to sail to Maine, let me know and I'll buy you a cool one.
Congratulations and I sincerely hope that we can sail together some day.

I've worked and I've been retired. Let me assure you that retired is definitely better. I have no idea how I had time to work. Enjoy yourself and let the work go.
There is a quote that may be appropriate.
We must remember three things,” he said to them. “I will tell them to you in the order of their importance. Number one and first in importance, we must have as much fun as we can with what we have. Number two, we must eat as well as we can, because if we don’t we won’t have the health and strength to have as much fun as we might. And number three and third and last in importance, we must keep the house reasonably in order, wash the dishes, and such things. But we will not let the last interfere with the other two.”
Well, what little faith I had in the ethical workings of our federal government just went out the window with the news that Dick will no longer be keeping his eye on corporate tax cheats.....Dick, you were my shining light!! Anyway, I wish you the very best in your well-earned retirement years. I hope you will be able to sail more and that I will cross bows with you more next summer....I miss that.

Dick, you are the man. Congratulations! I will call you about your first sail of retirement. It is supposed to be in the fifties next week. These are to be the best of times. Enjoy it as much as you can, Steve.
Dick - Congratulations on your retirement.. I hope you will continue to grace our waters with your superior taste in sailboats. I say that as a former (alas!) owner of a 25D.
Thanks for all the kind words. Ann and I leave for two months in Florida tomorrow morning. First thing I have to do when we get there is find a computer so I can stay up CDSOA business. You've got to have your priorities straight.
When I get back Neil will probably have his cover off already.
