Anybody know the part number for a Fram (or any other relatively inexpensive brand) oil filter that will fit a Volvo-Penta diesel engine (on a recently acquired '79 CD28)?

Oil filter should be FRAM PH-3614.

I also have a Volvo MD-7A in my boat but cannot get it to rev higher than about 2200 rpm. I'd like to rev it up to the maximum (manual) 2600 rpm to blow out carbon for short periods occasionally. I have a 3-bladed prop which may be part of the reason or perhaps my tach doesn't read correctly. Thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

When I buy an oil filter, I ask for the good one (usually Wix). Quality oil and filter changed often will do more for an engine's life than anything else you can do.

You can also use a NAPA Gold 1348 for your MD7A
