On Friday we purchased a 1977 Cape Dory 28, #149, soon to be named Sandpiper. She is currently near Knapps Narrows, Md.

The survey, while very favorable overall, shows that she needs a "little" work prior to coming home to Meyer Creek, near Lancaster, Va.

Thanks to everyone who answered my several questions a week or so ago.

congratulations on the CD 28, I have a 77/CD 28 hull number 137 bought her new in 77 and have no regrets. An honest sail boat!

You will LOVE the smallest big Cape Dory - I do. She'll be faithful in the toughest conditions and she's beautiful.

Congratulations to you, T and Holly.

I too own a 1977 CD28 hull 144 and am very pleased with the boat. Bought it in June 06 and after quite a bit of work over last winter and early spring put her in the water last May.

Am sailing out of Whitehall Marina in Annapolis and over the 4th and 5th sailed her with a friend to St Michaels and back for my first overnighter. In 3-4 foot waves and a 20 knot west wind enroute back to Annapolis the boat sailed like a charm at about 6 knots.

If you have any questions about this model don't hesitate to get in touch as I have learned a lot in the past year.
