CD28 power requirement

In the March 1998 issue of SAIL, Nigel Calder presented a formula for determining the horsepower requirement for a displacement hull. I came up with a figure of 15.2 hp for a CD28. (If I did the math right?) Has anyone else done this calculation and if so what did you get? If I figure this out I'll have to try to figure out the optimum propeller size.

Is that for displacing it from Boston to Tahiti, or just for me to get away from the slip? I have no problem getting to hull speed with 13 hp.
