MD7A Fine Fuel Filter Gaskets
I decided to inspect my fine fuel filter on my CD28's MD7A today and after reassembly it leaks air under the bolt. I can not find any infomation on replacement gaskets for under the bolt or under the cover. Any help on replacement parts would be great. Will O-Rings work?

My Volvo parts manual shows these parts, page 1-C07. There are 2 identical washers/gaskets, part number 957178-7. I can't tell if they are fiber, copper, or whatever and I will not be aboard this weekend.
The large one between the filter and the plate is probably included with the filter, since its number is not shown alone. There are 2 numbers shown for the filter, with no distinguishing specs. These are 829992-7 or 840531-8.

Listen-it is very important when you are re-assembling a diesel fuel filter that you coat the o-ring-gasket-or whatever you have with a liberal amount of motor oil! (a trick the mechanics won't tell you) and don't over torque it! snug only! if that doesn't work then yes you may have to replace the gasket or o-ring or whatever you have-you do not have to use a volvo part-although if you had one or could find one-that would be the better idea-simply take the gasket or o-ring to a marine or automotive supply house and have them fix you up-gaskets can be made on the spot to any size-and I am looking at an "assortment pack " of o-rings that I bought at a plumbing supply store somewhere-I leave the o-rings and gasket material on my boat "just in case"-if this is a CAV filter-there is a large o-ring between the filter housing and the filter body that sits in a groove and you may not even know its there-you would think it would fall out when you remove the filter body but sometimes its wedged in-that o-ring needs a ton of motor oil on it to prevent leaks! can you send a photo of what you have? also-any "crush washers" on a volvo-(the soft copper things) need to be replaced every time you remove them-so its god to carry an assortment of these little things-when you find the right size-grab a bunch of them-
