What is the proper length of outboard motor shaft for the standard typhoon outboard bracket? Is 20 inches OK? Thanks Tom
Tom,
I have a 20" Yamaha on mine with the straight motor bracket. It's ok, but I'd like to get in down a little further. I'm thinking of altering the bracket or switching to the bracket that angles down a bit. If a 25" shaft was readily available I'd be inclined to buy it. But I haven't seen any in the new motors?

Long shaft outboard=20"
Small outboards come in short and long shaft sizes. The long shaft is good for the standard Ty bracket.
