I did buy a copy of the Cost Conscious Cruiser. Some good ideas there.
I like the plexiglass jalousie but needed something quick and dirty for ventilation during Winter storage.
I saw some posts about Azek Drop Boards and since I had a piece of Azek lying around I fashioned a ventilated Azek Center Drop Board as shown here:

So far I've had it on under the Winter cover for ventilation. Once the cover comes off we'll soon see how effective it is in keeping out the rain.

The need is to have something that will keep out the rain and bugs but let in fresh air while at the mooring unattended throughout the sailing season. A potential fault is the plastic air deflector. It is fairly sturdy but can crack if it takes a hit. I'll update this again after I see how it works.
