Re: Interior Teak Care

We have used Watco Tung oil for years. Wipe on with cloth rag, buff after 20 minutes. Very easy to apply and lasts well.

Re: Bomar Hatches

Hatch was fairly easy to remove. First take out the screws and then pry under the hatch with a thin putty knife. Also, an oscillating multi-tool with a flat scrapping blade may be useful. Once you have removed the old sealant, oversize drill out the screw holes and fill with thickened epoxy. Then dr...

Re: Bomar Hatches

Also used TAP Plastics https://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/cut_to_size_plastic/polycarbonate_sheets/516 and the workmen ship and prices were excellent. As mentioned previously installed the Lexan sheet lens with 3M VHB tape and dow 795 sealant and performance of the refurbished Bomar hatch ...

Re: Bomar Hatches

I redid the Bomar hatch years ago and it has been great. Used Dow 795 with 3M VHB tape between the Bomar frame and the lexan lens. There are several sources for the Lexan lens and it should be ordered with the radiused corners. Painted the frame with "high performance" Rustoleum spray can ...

Re: replacing Lexan/Polycarbonate on Bomar Hatch

I suggest searching the site for similar information on replacing the lexan on the Bomar hatch. I ordered the polycarbonate from TAP Plastics precut 1/4" with 1" radius corners and used Dow 995 structural silicone sealant with 3M bedding tape between the hatch rim and the poly lens. Bomar ...

Re: replacing Lexan/Polycarbonate on Bomar Hatch

Bomar original was 3/16" and I used the 1/4" polycarbonate which Bomar recommended.

Re: replacing Lexan/Polycarbonate on Bomar Hatch

TAP Plastics will provide ploycarbonent [lexan] lens cut to size. Light gray tint [57%] with UV protection. Have them cut to size with 1" radius corners. Good price and fast delivery. I used 3M VHB bonding tape and Dow 995 black structural silicone sealant to install lens. As black paint on alu...

Repower CD28-Beta 14 or Beta 16

Our Volvo MD7A will be removed and will be available for parts in July. We are in the process of selecting a Beta Marine engine either the 14 or 16 model. Talking with the rep at Beta he tells me that CD 28 owners have installed both and liked them. I am concerned with having adequate power into hea...
