Re: Water under engine in molded pan.

The only thing I would add is that the engine pan is intended to capture engine fluids. With that in mind, the engine pan should not be allowed to overflow into the bilge. It is intended to be emptied manually with a sponge, and if there is any oily residue or coolant, the water should be transferre...

Re: how to handle a CD 36 in reverse

To piggy-back on what John said, I have a bow thruster on my CD28 Cruiser, which admittedly is an entirely different boat. Even with a bow thruster, I still head in. A bow thruster is not a miracle cure in reverse. Far from it. It's actually a distraction because in addition to paying attention to w...

Re: WEB SITE UPDATE

Can you please send an update when all the emails have been sent? Mine has not yet arrived, and yes, I have checked my junk email folder. Update on 2/2/23. Still no email with a temporary password.

Re: Northeast Fleet Annual Winter Meeting - Jan. 28, 2023

We had a great Winter Meeting at Flanders Fish Market in East Lyme, Connecticut yesterday. Here are some photos I took during the meeting. I wish I had gotten a photo of the Nautical Raffle table! It was overflowing. The first photo is a general shot of the room. We had great attendance. The second ...

I admire your willingness to set sail again despite the obvious pain. Enjoy the mini-cruise and wish you well in your recovery after surgery.

Re: 2023 NE Fleet Cabin Fever Lunch - Save the Date

To "register" just send me an email. See the flyer below, which has also been posted on the Cape Dory Friends FB page. For this event, we order off the menu, so there is no cost to attend. Just the cost of whatever you order. Newick's will need a head-count, so they can plan. We could stil...

Re: What Ever Happened to:

Neil is still active on LinkedIn and he has become active on the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. He is the only sailor I have seen with a full spice rack on his CD28. He eats well on-board. I sailed with him on the Boston Harbor Islands Regatta. He is a former Fleet Captain of the Northeast Fleet and...

2023 NE Fleet Cabin Fever Lunch - Save the Date

Save the Date! The Northeast Fleet Cabin Fever Lunch will be on March 11, 2023. The event will be held at the usual location, which is Newick's Lobster House in Dover, New Hampshire. There will be a brief presentation by Fred Mueller, our Fleet Captain and Commodore, a speaker, and of course a raffl...

Thanks, Fred for all the work you have done to bring it to this point. It should make event registrations a very simple process, once it goes live.

Re: CD24

Honestly, that's how I bought my CD28 Cruiser. I happened to be the first person who called. I paid full asking price in cash. But I'm not stupid. I gave a 10% deposit with the remainder due upon a successful survey, which she passed with flying colors. In this market, if you find the right boat, yo...

The pictures aren't coming through, at least for me. All I see is a gray circle with a white horizontal box through it. Is anyone else having this problem?
