Re: Dwyer mast
I did order a replacement mast from Dwyer when mine was stolen (CD Typhoon)....was very satisfied with customer service....mast arrived by truck....packed in a very heavy duty cardboard tube....in perfect condition...gate milled perfectly......exactly where I specified....wanted it to be below the g...

The fixture just to the right of the stern cleat....looks like a semi-flush....stern light/pole socket...normally used on powerboats.

Re: Open Typhoon
The pics are not recent, but just intend to show what teak trim it has, which I have not seen on other Ty's. In the next few days, weather permitting, I will be taking pics to show current condition. Boat has no dock rash, teak is treated with Cetol light. Will be including the orginal bronze motor ...

Open Typhoon
The sad time has come, I may be selling my CD Typhoon (open/no cuddy). The lake has been unusable now for nearly three years, due to the drought. And I just cant bring myself to pay the yearly slip fee, with no water in the slip. And health issues have been troubling me as well, so trailer sailing t...

Re: Typhoon Self-tacking Jib
As one with a Typhoon Open Daysailer......the self tending jib does spoil you. My crew loves not having to tend sheets, when I get into a tacking duel with other boats on our lake. The Ty may not tack as quick as a fin boat, but I can wear them out, from sheeting and trimming.

Re: Pumping water out of the hull without working bilge
find yourself a whale gusher urchin pump....it is self priming....can use it on a footboard ..outside the boat...to start a siphoning...and once running it will pass through the pump with out further pumping...and after you get into the boat...you can mount the urchin...and continue to use it ....ca...

Re: Typhoon Fueling
I used to keep a boat in a marina that had the same.."no gas cans on dock" rule. Not wanting to violate the rules, for my honda 2hp, I just carried in my sailing bag, one of those fuel cannisters used for camping stoves. Are available in several sizes, are leakproof, and what little gas th...

Re: OB motor for TY questions
We have a Honda 2hp for our Ty....I can attest that is has been extremely reliable...plenty of power for its size...and the light wieght does not effect the balance of the boat....just be sure and get the longer shaft model...

Re: bilge ice
A few years ago, due to circumstances out of my control, my open Daysailer was trapped in our city lake for the winter. This lake has to have water pumped into it to maintain useable water levels, and it is Oklahoma Citys main water supply. So we suffer from what we call a serious, slow ebb tide, ti...

Re: CD Typhoon is a dog?
Hey OJ, my best deck hand is Rat Terrorist. Stands his watch on the hatch forward of the mast, making it very clear when others get to close to "his" boat. takes his breaks napping on the flats either side of the tiller, two feet braced against the fiddles, and gets all excited when at hom...

CD Typhoon is a dog?
Like a few on this board, I have a bit too much time on my hands lately. So I was perusing, other boards, just to see what was going on. On the website called.....Trailersailor....I read through a thread about comparing a CD Typhoon with a Precision 18, to wit...a Precison owner stated that he had r...
