Re: Ice box in 25D
We too have looked at the same issue with our 25. After much consideration we decided it was easiest to simply buy a Yeti cool bag from West Marine that fits in the space. Job done and also gives us the option of taking it with us onto the beach with our picnic in.

Yes, I am learning that there are a lot of small differences between the years of manufacture.

I ended of cutting a larger recess out. If anyone else is thinking of doing this at any point it's solid glass/resin under there. I did it with a Dremel, it was a bit tricky but did the job.

Re: Advice for refurbishing teak
We are also currently refurbishing our CD25 teak. We went with AWL Grip primer and gloss coats (8 coats) very happy with the results.

Cutting down to the hull to install the backing plate for the sink sea cock on a CD25.
The time has come to replace the gate valve seacocks with new Groco ball valve seacocks on my 1977 CD25! The sink seacock (pictured) is directly below the sink n the Portside under the salon bench. The current recess in the plastic skin is too small to take the Groco backing plate for the appropriat...

Improving the Cape Dory 25 bilge access.
Hi My bilge on my Cape Dory 25 I recently acquired needs a good old sub and paint and possibly I fresh layer of fibre glass as some of the original fibers are starting to lift. However access to the bilge is shockingly limited in these boats. The deepest part of the bilge is right back under the com...

Re: Cape Dory 25 folding door for the head
Thank you for the info and pointers and we take the point regarding closing down what is already a small space. We are thinking it would be bi-fold door that could fold away across the locker space when not in use, but maybe a curtain that is easily removed is the answer. Thank you.

Cape Dory 25 folding door for the head
Hi We have a 1977 CD25 project on the go. We noticed in the original brochure that there was a folding door that closed off the head and also the bulk head between the salon and the v-berth/head area. Over the years our door has been removed, we know it was once there as we still have the screw hole...
