Stanchion base seems flimsy but not much choice.

going to add a backing plate to the main side stay on a cape dory 28. will be using main halyard in place of side stay as i loosen the side stay. problem is what do i attach main halyard to ? stanchions do not seem strong enough and if i use a line attached to main winch and front cleat the angle is...

I need to replace the hose in the cockpit drains and I wonder what kind of hose people get and what is the diameter of the hose ?

replacement gasket for fuel cap
I have a cape dory 28.
For safety I would like to replace the rubber gasket on the fuel cap.
But it does not look like a normal gasket. Can I use a normal gasket and where can I find the gasket ?
Also gasket for the water cap.
