Roller furlers ,the way to go, No choice better than Harken. Have worked on many others that have failed due to various design weakness. Would not recommend pro furl. Invest in a Harken and enjoy..

Good suggestions about bleaching, I prefer Satin or Rubbed Effect varnish, very forgiving with regards to any dust or imperfections.

I have been rigging sailboats for some time, I believe that it is much better to unstep every year if possible. We cannot properly inspect and service the mast in place. Salt water boats need to remove old hardware and check corrosion . Salt Stainless and aluminum can compromise the mast structure.W...

I am also sailing on Narragansett Bay. Quite a variety of Cape Dory's here, I'm always on the lookout for them . I have a Typhoon Senior now but I still have fond memories of my previous TY Weekender. Probably will haul this weekend and start to make a winter list
