My stripes are eyebrow and cove stripe . It's also the same color of the boot top.

I added a vinyl stripe where you have your teak eyebrows .Cape Dory cost cutting on Seniors. I matched with my cove stripe. Not as nice as wood but it works for me !

I also have the same sad story. Hauled out a couple weeks earlier than normal because of last October storms in R.I. Just fired up the snow blower and generator and probably have cut the lawn for the season. 70 degree's last week with shorts on to possibly 30 degrees tonight. SIGH!!

You are correct that stripping would be best however you can do spot repair as needed. We use interlux interprime sealer after scraping and sanding bad spots. After that sand and add additional coats of varnish until flush . Also for cracks in joints you can seal with West System then varnish over. ...
