Re: Building a nesting tender for Fayaway
Mine came out to about 60 pounds, also. The two pieces are light and short enough to make putting it on and taking it off the cabin top not too much of a chore, but not something I'd want to do in rough water, since it takes both hands and they are rather cumbersome. I do recommend using a preventer...

Re: Building a nesting tender for Fayaway
Hi Avery, I have built two - Two-Paw 8s in the past, not including a shortened 7' version for my former South Coast 23 (another Alberg design). Last one was for the cabin top of Last Mango, my 1978 CD28. If I can make one very strong suggestion, it's to skip the screws & knobs for joining the tw...

Re: Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Hi Rob or anyone,,
I'm about to start on my table project, still looking for dimensions, if anyone can help me out. Width of it folded, length, and the height it is mounted above the port settee would be awesome. I really appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Re: Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Thanks tons Rob. If you take any pictures, I'd be glad to see those, too! My understanding is that the backs that "flip up" the length of the settee are actually for creating pipe berths, which Cape Dory tried on the 28 for a while, but later decided against continuing. Others may know wha...

Cape Dory 28 Bulkhead mounted table
Hi everyone, I'm trying to find some dimensions of the drop down table offered on Cape Dory 28s. Specifically, the table that slides out on stainless rails. I've seen multiple posts where members PM or email dimensions to others, but nothing posted. I'm specifically looking for the width of the halv...

Re: Installing Yanmar 2GM20F in CD28 -- help!
Thanks Buzzard, I'll take a look at flipping the rear mount tabs to gain some room back there, that is a good idea, and I'm also looking at some DF-100 mounts, which are lower profile and shorter. I'll modify the template with these changes and see what that gets me. I've got the 2GM20F parts catalo...

Installing Yanmar 2GM20F in CD28 -- help!
Hi guys & gals, I've seen a few Yanmar 2GM20Fs in Cape Dory 28s, and that is my current project. My old Volvo has been removed, and I built a template for the 2GM20F to determine how the engine beds would need to be modified. The template uses the actual motor mounts of my Yanmar. It looks like ...

Re: CD28 Prop and aperature size?
Awesome, I had located a 14x12 prop already, but was still hesitant... and I left the "F" off my engine, it's the 2GM20f, also. I haven't mocked up a template yet, but did you have to do anything other than raise the engine beds? I saw somewhere that there was a need to accommodate a 'bulg...

CD28 Prop and aperature size?
Hello, all, I'm on my 1st official Cape Dory, although it is my 3rd Alberg design (Sailstar Corinthian 19', and a South Coast 23 previously). I just purchased a 1978 Cape Dory 28, who is a south pacific veteran of Hawaii and the Marquesas, with beefed up rigging (including exterior bronze chainplate...
