Re: Solar panel battery charging

E-Marine in Ft Lauderdale sells a 10 w marine solar panel kit that comes with a rail mount, controller already installed on the back of the panel. It is just plug and play. It worked great on my previous boat where I was on a mooring and needed to keep a battery charged and used cabin lights, VHF ra...

Re: CD30 - salon settee back boards

Thanks, Michael & Toni. Mine are already hinged and have a bolt that can lock them up. The only thing is then you can't access the storage behind it easily. Of course this is a benefit while under sail in that it keeps things in that storage shelf from flying across the cabin in sporty conditions.

CD30 - salon settee back boards

With the warmer weather, I have been able to sleep on Pochade while doing work to her while she is on the hard. I am finding those big , heavy, hinged boards behind the settee backs a real PIA. Has anyone removed them? I think I am going to take at least one side off and try it. For now will probabl...

Re: Outboard: SMALL!!!

Mercury also makes a 2 1/2 hp that weighs 38lbs and has an intregal tank. Your small outboards will not have a reverse gear. Instead you spin the engine around. Never heard of anyone making a smaller one.

Re: Better AM/FM portable radio for the boat?

I got rid of the radio on Pochade and use a portable blue tooth JBL speaker and use Pandora music app or music downloaded on my phone . Never have reception problems and since you create your own stations, you always have the kind of music you like to hear. It is also nice that friends that come abo...

Aft cockpit storage opening

Has any one added any type of cut out and door in the aft part of cockpit ( next to the manual pump ) to gain access to the space for storage?

Re: Life raft recertification

I love to hear stories like this. I wish everyone that had a life raft would do this. At the very least you should know exactly what safety gear comes with your particular life raft. The ones made today come with all kinds of safety goodies like a knive, sea sickness meds, fishing gear, flares, drin...

Re: Bird-B-Gone plastic or SS spikes?

Another vote for cable ties. The 11 / 12" long size works perfect on a CD30 spreader. A quantity of 24 will cover both spreaders tying them several inches apart.
Good luck!

Re: Solar panel trickle charger for sailboat batteries

For my last boat, i bought the 10w solar panel package. It came with everything I needed to keep battery charged. All you have to do is attach a couple of wires to your battery terminals and mount the panel on the rail. Cost under $150.00 ( 3 yrs ago ). My boat only had one battery. If your battery ...

Re: Solar panel trickle charger for sailboat batteries

I also recommend E-Marine. Great prices and great customer service. If you tell them what your set up is and what you want then they will set you up. Check out their web site, too. Lots of good information.
