Check with a kayak rental shop. They usually have the welder to fix that kind of thing.

We were going to move to florida and while researching it read a book about the downside. The biggest you don’t think about is worrying for the whole storm season. Even though you rarely get hit the stress of being ready to leave all season sucks. We changed our plans.
