Re: 1984 CD36 #115 FOR SALE
I can't explain why it doesn't work for you. It works OK for others.

Sorry. I wish I could fix it for you.

Re: Access hatch in the cockpit sole, CD 33, looking for adv
After many years of twisting my 6'2" body through my CD36 port lazarette to get behind the engine, I installed an access port in the cockpit floor. I wish I had done it years ago. It has made possible what was previously impossible. I used a Bomar cast aluminum access hatch. They make two types...

CD36 windlass
All:
The gear case and mounting plate of my Ideal (brand) windlass have rusted beyond repair. The Lofrans Tigres windlass has been recommended as a replacement. Does anyone have experience of one of these on a CD36?
Thanks in advance,
David

Honda 2hp outboard
Doug: Stay away from the Honda outboard. While it functions it does a good job. The problem is Honda's choice of materials: mild steel !!! My motor recently started spewing engine oil from the top end. Turns out that the valve cover had rusted through. So, too, had the carburetor bowl. So, too, had ...

Per Foot Charges
It has just happened again. I have been charged deck-length for below the waterline services. In this most recent case, a diver charged 36' to clean the hull below the 27' waterline. In the past, I have been charged 36' to put on bottom paint below the 27' waterline. In both instances, I challenged ...

Russell: If I were re-doing Raven's bow pulpit, I'd given serious thought to some sort of seat. When the self-steering is set and the weather is good, I just love sitting up there with my back to the forestay. Yes, I know it is not the safest place to be, but the thrill is worth the risk. Can't easi...

My Loos tension gauge says that it is calibrated for 304 stainless steel. My rigging is 316 st.st. so I use it for only relative measurements, rather than absolute. Has anyone found a multiplier to recalibrate this tool for 316 st.st.? Presumably, Loos thinks there's enough of a difference to mentio...
