Have you considered a smallish dinghy or a nesting dinghy that mounts on top of the cabin top like the Pardey's do? (did)

I am in the market for a simpson lawrence hyspeed for my CD30. its manual, but with a smallish 30 foot boat, I would imagine sufficient battery power to run an electric windlass would be an issue. have you considered a hydraulic windlass run off a pump on the engine?

Its on my project list. I acquired a pair of ABI bronze upper gallows fittings, and will cast a pair of bases to match the cabintop. I wanted to use silicon bronze pipe for the uprights but the are not available, so I will likely use red brass pipe, unthreaded. I am gonna use a piece of 6/4 burmese ...

I won't be down on the boat for two weeks, but its a fiberglass casting the the engine panel is mounted in. on the 30 it is on starboard just forward of the back of the cockpit. I have only owned this boat for 3 weeks.... so I don't know what other cape dories its on. I am thinking about 1/8 inch th...
