we replaced the lexan on our bomar hinges on our CD36 last spring. I bought the material at a local plastic supply shop for about $40 per hatch. we just repowered our CD36 with a 3 cylinder volvo penta MD17 that we found, tore down, and restored. we couldn't be more pleased with the engine.

This is great information as I see this being done in our CD36 eventually.

There is definitely not room for a shaft larger than 1" on the 36.

Our 36 has the bronze tube around the shaft with the packing nut threaded onto it. we have a 1" shaft. I was thinking of replacing the shaft while we do a repower and have everything apart. Does anyone know if there is room in there for a 1 1/8" shaft or 1 1/4" if you replaced the cut...

Does anyone have a SEN Dure freshwater cooling kit for the MD7B on their CD30?

I took mine off and am unsure on how it does back.

Particularly the loop that goes to the remote expansion tank in the cockpit and water heater.

I am looking to buy a simpson lawrence hyspeed manual windlass for my CD 30. It fits perfect.

I would like to put my CD 30 hull number on my new mainsail. Here's the problem. it was scrathed off the CD 30 plate in the companionway. Is the serial number on the transom the CD 30 number, or just the hull number for all cape dories? The boat is a 1984 and the serial number in the HIN number is 2...
