CD25D reconnect
The boat has been successfully launched but has not traveled on its own. I cannot get power to the panel. Batteries A and B have pos and neg cables attached and a neg/neg bridge between. There are red and black cables in the engine compartment. Don't know where these attach. I feel like there is a g...

CD 25D launch
Greetings, all. After residing in landlocked Nebraska for a little over a year, the CD 25D formerly known as Mickaleen from Punta Gorda FL will again be in her element, albeit fresh water, with launch and christening next Friday. I have a crew of six to accomplish this task, none of whom are CD owne...

Re: 25D accomodations
Thanks to all. Reassurance that, indeed, the post is not intended to stand in the middle of the cabin on it's own encourages me to attempt the more aggressive approaches mentioned. This weekend, penetrating oil in hand, I shall again attack the problem. Of course, only one of a dozen or so projects ...

Re: 25D accomodations
Thanks to both of you. I have trolled this website long enough to recognize a few of you and have made a point to keep track of 25D caretakers. Hope to meet on the water some day. I'll have a few years of practicing in our inland ponds before heading out on the Big Blue Wet Thing. I'll tap tap wiggl...

25D accomodations
Greetings. Summer is just around the corner, even if we still have snow here in Nebraska. I hope to splash CD25D hull #164 by mid-May. I do have questions for those of you with experience. Let me just start with the galley table. The post that supports said table is mighty solidly fixed in my vessel...

CD25D cutlass bearing replacement
So the motor is out and the propeller and shaft are pulled. What I read about removal and replacement of the cutlass bearing is to loosen the set screws. I am a newbie, but cannot find set screws. Are they buried under body putty like the heel shoe rivets? are they inside the hull aft of the stuffin...

CD 25D rudder removal
Good morning, all. I am the new caretaker of s/v Mickaleen, an '84 25D. One of the projects I knew needed attention was the removal and reconstruction of the rudder. I have ground off and removed the rivets holding the heel bracket, but the prop is still in the road. Am I missing something, or does ...

Re: 1984 Cape Dory 25D For Sale ( Project)
I am pleased to report that S/V Mickaleen has found a new home. She is currently on the hard in Nebraska getting ready for new adventures and I am a proud Cape Dory owner. Thanks to Mike for his stewardship of this vessel and easy transfer to me. I shall endeavor to pass her on in even better condit...
