Agreed. For what it's worth, my recent survey cost $420, or slightly less than $17 / foot; it was throughly professional in every respect. And in the NYC area, which I don't imagine to be the cheapest market for these services.

I'm in the process of buying a CD25, and it sports a nice swim ladder; it's screwed into the transom. Don't know if this compromises the integrity of the glass, but it doesn't seem to have weakened anything (just a bit of corrosion, but that's not a big deal).
