Non skid blue

Hi all,

Search function was not effective. What is a color match for the blue nonskid on the early {77} CDs? Just going to do one section at a time so I would like a close match.

Thanks,

Re: CD36 questions on Non-skid and Bulkhead mounted tables

My '77 CD 27 came with a cut down pedestal table. ( one pedestal ). I removed it and obtained a bulkhead mounted table from a later 27 and installed that. However I find that I seldom use the table at all and know of at least one other 27 owner that has removed the table altogether. Since I primaril...

New mail sail from Sail Care?

Greetings, I have shipped my main and genoa to Sail Care for cleaning and evaluation for repair. I have used them in the past and liked their service. Spoke with their rep this AM and he says my main is heavily damaged from the sun and they cannot clean or repair it satisfactorily. They can build a ...

Re: Dome Light LED - Switch Update / Your experience

I just put LED bulbs in my dome lights, don't remember where I got them, not a kit, just bulbs. Kept my original dome lights, buffed the chrome on a wheel here at the house and they look like new. Much brighter.

Re: About to purchase CD27 (my first sailboat)

Greetings, I own a 1977 CD 27 #35. Just finished my second season. You will find that no two CDs are exactly alike. The later 27s are a little more "refined" than the early ones. Nothing that effects performance but perhaps some creature comforts or more pleasing to the eye. Later models h...

Re: Volvo engine touch up painting

I painted my Yanmar YSB 8 in place. Removed a few easy to remove items ( belt guard, water pump, air intake pipe) to spray at home. Covered hoses and cables and other items not to be painted with tin foil, easy to apply and mold to shape. Blocked off engine compartment walls with cardboard and tape....

Manual pump models.

Hi Folks, In my CD 27 I have a galley foot pump and a manual bilge pump mounter to the forward port cockpit. Do you know the models of these pumps? The galley pump is leaking and drains the fresh water tank, and the bilge pump has a funny click in it during the stroke. I would like to order the rebu...

Re: Best Cape Dory Ever Made

Perhaps to get a most reasonable answer, I would have to sail in each model CD. So far only a 14, a typhoon and my 27. Also only in shore. Anyone Bahama bound that needs rail meat?

Re: Typhoon solar setup for trolling motor

Thanks for posting.
Great info for those of us who may be considering solar in the future. Batteries on my 27 only went dead once due to my carelessness, but solar may have kept them alive. Food for thought.

Re: Where is Bristol Bronze?

Took me nearly a year to get the builders plaque from them. I even found their building in Tiverton R.I I live in RI so it was not much of a drive. Building looked abandoned and in poor state of repair. Finally did get the plaque but it is not the same size as the original plastic plaque and I hand ...

Fred,
Per the data sheet you posted, looks like reduction ratios for both engines are the same. Guess that's not it.

Re: CD 27 Engine - Do I have a YSB8 or YSB12?

Greetings, I have CD 27 hull # 35. YSB8 original to the boat as far as I can tell. 2 blade prop easily pushes her to 5 knots. You say bottom is clean does prop have any growth? I don't have prop pitch or diameter handy, my notes are on the boat. I'll check. Interesting puzzle. Different gear ratio i...
