Jiffy reefing to cockpit
Jiffy reefing to cockpit. On a previous boat, a Seasprite 23, she came with jiffy reefing lines rigged to the cockpit. I enjoyed these. My present boat, a CD 27, has 2 reef points with the tails rigged to cleats on the boom. As you may know, this requires a trip out of the cockpit to the mast to low...

Re: Wanted Control panel for YSM8
T. Duffus,
My panel has just the three idiot lights, the ignition switch and a blank for a gauge but no gauge. If yours is similar and available when you repower, I'd love to have it.
Thanks for your reply.

Wanted Control panel for YSM8
Greetings, My CD 27 has the original YSM 8 and so far it has been adequate and reliable. However the control panel has the corners broken off. It's functional but ugly. Any one have one in good shape? They are no longer available from Yanmar. Maybe one of you that has repowered? I'd be glad to pay a...

Inflatable vest inflated in hot car
Greetings,
Had my inflatable vest in my car in driveway. Surprised to find it had inflated when I opened car this AM. Car interior was very warm but not that hot. Outdoor temp was 80s. Do the vests get triggered by heat? Do I need to keep in in a cooler environment?

Re: Differences between CD 27, 28, and 30?
I have had an enjoyable day on my 27 with 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 small dogs. Very crowded but fun dropping the hook for lunch. Only did that ONCE. Most of the time I single hand. Could cruise to Block Island and Nantucket from Narragansett Bay but most comfortable with 2 people. I think the key is t...

Re: Taking a YSM8 out of a CD27'
Fred Mueller has repowered his 27. I think with a Beta. I'm a little surprised that he has not responded to this thread. I've been aboard, beautiful job, just don't remember which model.

Re: Could I connect a S2000 autopilot direclty to bank batt
I have my ST 2000 wired directly to the battery. It is on fused line. It and my bilge pump are not connected through the master switch and the circuits are always "live" . Works for me.

Re: Lazy Jacks "Leoma" update
Following this as I have the same questions.
I'm leaning towards a fixed attachment on the mast. I hope to be able to retract them after the sail is secured.
Then I won't have to modify my sail cover.

Never heard of that engine.
Looked it up, interesting, 2 cycle, gas, 7 hp., electric start. Would like to see the installation too.

Re: Painting the Spar "attachments"
I took the winch bases off the mast of my CD 27 two seasons ago. Removing them was a chore. Patience and persistence with an impact screwdriver only broke one bolt. Then gentle thermal persuasion. Then sanded and spray painted black. I like them but it took some effort.

Re: Old paint colors
Agree with Total Boat bilge paint. My '77 CD 27 looks like original color was light blue. However the new white paint really brightened everything up. My younger son applied a lot of it because I am not small enough or flexible enough to get to all areas. Now easier to follow hoses and wiring. Also ...
