Re: Old CD-25 with unusual layout & motor well?

Ben -

Don't you get stuff growing there from the water sloshing in & out?

Old CD-25 with unusual layout & motor well?

I went and looked at CD-25 number 16 (1973)today. There were a couple things different about this compared to the other CD-25's I have looked at. First, on the port side there was a dinette instead of a straight settee. More interesting was the lazerette & motor well. There was no liner in that ...

Re: Anyone have a CD-25 out of the water in North Carolina?

Robert -

Thanks, but not really. I want to measure how long the bottom of the keel is, and how wide at the widest. Also some ideas of how far above the bottom of the keel the bottom of the hull is at several points. Trying to do some preliminary work on a trailer.

Anyone have a CD-25 out of the water in North Carolina?

Looking to take some general measurements of the original style Cape Dory 25 for doing initial set up on a trailer. If anyone knows of one I can measure, please let me know. Ideally in the New Bern/ Oriental/Beaufort area, but really anywhere in the state would be fine. Thanks!

Re: CD-25 questions

Thanks Pual. I did check the sole but not around the mast. Mast was up so I only looked at the lower ends. This boat does still have gate valves which will need replacing. The head intake & outlet still have hoses on the gate valves that are plugged - not good. The rest of the maintenance & ...

Re: CD-25 questions

Thanks for the advice. I wondered what those teak cut outs were for. I did check the rudder shoe/gudegeon interface. I also checked the deck over pretty well. I agree about the project boat comments - I have played that game before. At the same time, pretty much any 30+ year old boat needs some work...

CD-25 questions

Looking to downsize to a trailerable (but not necessarily ramp launchable) boat. Went and looked at a 1975 Cape Dory 25 today (the original, not the 25D) and had a couple questions I hope someone can answer for me: 1. How do you get to the chain plates? It looks like they are behind the liner, makin...
