Keeping the tank under the transom is not a good idea for the reasons mentioned above. The fuel vapor can collect below deck.

Thanks that makes perfect sense. I'm going to wait for a but before trying to swap it out in case I get another comment. As for the louvered panel, it came with the boat and so I can't compare the moisture level without it. The previous owner mentioned that the cabin gets moist but I haven't detecte...

That looks like a nice haul! I need to replace a small section of toerail on my CD Typhoon. It's a 1" tall x 5/8" wide bullnose. I have woodworking skills but no shop or proper tools for shaping. The section I need is about 2' long. Do you think this is too small a piece for this?
