Re: 25D Steel Cradle

Thanks again Keith. The cradle will work for me - now I just need to figure out when/how to pick it up - what do you want for it? I might be able to avoid the ferry altogether, but will check the website nonetheless - is it listed under Port Jefferson Ferry, Bridgeport Ferry, or L.I. Ferry? Guess I'...

Re: Triad trailer for Cape Dory 25D

No problema amigo... comprende todo. FYI, trailers carrying more than 3000 lbs. require brakes in all states - the CD25 could "sneek by" without them perhaps as the weight is very close to 3000lbs., the maximum distance the trailer will be towed will also be a determining factor in selecti...

Re: 25D Steel Cradle

Thanks Keith, I was actually curious as to the distances between the poppet pads - wondering if it might fit a different hull than the CD25 - (I should have been more specific), but from your dimensions and the photos I conclude that the lateral measurements are 5' and assume that the fore & aft...

Re: 25D Steel Cradle

I might be interested in the cradle - any chance you could provide measurements between the hull support pads (front-to-back & side-to-side)? How would I go about picking it up - is it necessary to take a ferry roundtrip from CT? I'm thinking that the cradle could sit on top of a conventional bo...

Re: Triad trailer for Cape Dory 25D

Roberto, I have a nice heavy-duty Aluminum tandem axle trailer that is currently having all-new suspension components installed and will be "like new" when completed - it could easily be adapted to carry a CD 25, 25D, or even 26. It also could have a ladder mounted if desired - in other wo...

Re: New typhooner

Congrats on your new Ty! I absolutely agree that Edgartown is a perfect home for a Typhoon, but then so is all of MV, not to mention the Elizabeth Islands, Buzzards Bay and just about Anywhere in New England!!! I scored a truly trashed Ty about 15+ years ago from an old guy in Eel Pond, Woods Hole (...

Re: Typhoon trailer poppets - distance between?

Hey Rick, Your former Typhoon was/is a real beauty! I like the trailer set-up also - haven't seen quite that configuration before - I'd be interested in knowing the spacing of the vertical stands (fore & aft & side-to-side), might just adopt that style on one of my trailers. I don't see any ...

Re: Typhoon trailer poppets - distance between?

Hi Tim & OJ, Of course it goes without saying that the keel pad supports most of the boats weight, and that the only constant in any Typhoon trailer design will be the relative hull contact points that prevent the boat from "tipping" in any direction - the variables are how & where...

Re: Typhoon trailer poppets - distance between?

Hmmm? The stands on my trailer (which I had welded on after inspecting a Typhoon trailer on Cape Cod, ((albeit not a Triad)), some 10+ years ago prior to bringing the Ty from the Cape to Bar Harbor, ME - where it has spent the all these years in my mom's garage), match your measurements fore and aft...

Re: Typhoon trailer poppets - distance between?

According to Cape Dory's design for a Typhoon cradle the distance between the stands laterally should be 48" and longitudinally 68".

Typhoon #122 for sale in Spruce Head, ME

Skip, the owner of a small boatyard in Spruce Head, ME is selling a "useable" Typhoon in need of TLC for $1,500. with a good '07 6hp 4 stroke outboard. No trailer and no rubrail, just the toerail. Some soft spots on foredeck, but ok to use "as is". The owner upgraded to a CD25......

Boom for a CD25 (?) for sale

I have a 9' boom available that, according to RigRite's specs., should fit a CD25 or similar-sized sailboat (I believe). It does not have a gooseneck fitting but does have the endcap and double-ended tang attached. In decent shape. Anyone interested? I could drop it off most anywhere on the East Coa...
