Paul...I suspect I misunderstood- you were involve with the intrepid group of girls...but you are Paul, et pas une des femmes!
How do you like your CD33? I'm sure on Lake Superior you can run into incredibly heavy weather when lows come your way....
I bet you have a well functioning heater below!

Re: masthead and keel stepped CDs... and a bit about my CD22
Hi Steve and the others You make some very good points. I would much prefer a deck/masthead sloop or cutter to dealing with keel stepped. I think with a fiber glass boat if the mast breaks to a point that affects the deck.... the deck stepped is going to rip the top. The keel stepped usually break s...

Re: masthead and keel stepped CDs... and a bit about my CD22
I keep losing posts.... First- Femme du Nord- vous etes Francophone? Du Quebec? If not sorry. Maybe it is just the name of your boat. Sometimes I would refer to friends that were Quebecoises femme ou fille du nord. Being currently in Miami...I am fils du sud lol. I was going to change l'nom de mon v...

masthead and keel stepped CDs... and a bit about my CD22
Hi Everyone, I have not posted in a long time and just wrote a long post... which I lostsafter. After posing my question, I talked about my several month long solo sails in the CD22- really amazing boat. The PO turned out to be a member here named Tom, but I don't know if that is his screen name. A ...

Re: One of the dangers of being "thethered" to your sailboat
It would be kind of interesting to do some calculations- entering in the variables: rope dia, length, and type. Then the size and particulars of the boat. From this you would know if drag was affecting your speed.

Re: One of the dangers of being "thethered" to your sailboat
This is a very old post but will definitely apply to me since I single hand. At the moment it is only in Biscayne Bay with no self steering mechanism... Otherwise, for longer, offshore voyages with a self steering system I cannot imagine not having jacklines and a harness. I am likely going to eithe...

Re: CD 22 purchased and finally wet and sailing/bilge questi
Thanks Gary, Seahunt and Shave- Its a relief to read your comments. My boat is moored now, but I go out quite a bit to do stuff. So I went out today and checked everything. I looked at the anchor storage and there's no hole that goes to the bilge. I looked at the water tank under the v-birth. The to...

CD 22 purchased and finally wet and sailing/bilge question.
Hi Everyone, I posted here a while back (december) and had some general questions on the smaller CDs. I decided on the CD22 because I did not want a well. I found one in Texas - and fortunately had a survey done before going from Miami to Galveston to finish the transaction. Lots of little and possi...

Re: Interesting article on the obsession w/blisters
The article did answer many questions I had. Having said that...... my boat had no blisters in the survey.

Re: deck/hull flange-water seepage.
Thanks for the responses- I'm negotiating regarding this issue so there would be something worked out between me and seller. Both of you confirmed what I have read- that it is related to toe rail, stanchions and/or deck hardware. he did mention re-imbedding some of the hardware and stanchions from t...

deck/hull flange-water seepage.
Hi Everyone. I got my survey results, and what I thought might be a problem was not- and something entirely unexpected was. Primary concern- In the V berth on the port and starboard sides, water seems to leak through the hull/deck joint. I have read about this on larger CDs. This boat is slipped and...

Re: Typhoon boom tent or bimini
Great topic!
It seems that you and I have this in common- I have the CD22
and I am in South FL/Keys. Not having cover- particularly in the summer time... brutal. Like you, I am not going to
be simply daysailing. I hope to do coastal distance, and some crossings- bimini is essential.

Re: Interesting article on the obsession w/blisters
From the above comments-makes you grateful to have a CD. Looks like the CD22 I'm purchasing is ok- waiting for report, but he briefly informed me that there were no blisters, and the hull was in good condition and rudder showed no signs of problems. Only problem was a couple of spots- small- of dela...

Re: Interesting article on the obsession w/blisters
Shinok- That is a good point. Especially regarding the manufacturing. Dick- As for CDs the heel where the rudder joins the keel- As you saw on my "rudder issue" post- and the responses- this seems to be a sensitive area. As for your C&C- I have never heard of a hull- mold aspect- using...

CD22 exchange roller furling for hank ons?
Hi- Assuming I get my CD22 which comes with furling and the UV cloth- I might consider trading for hank-on if someone is interested. I've used both, and yes, roller is v. convenient, but crossing 70 mile stretches and having it jam up is a concern. Changing from Gen, to Jib to storm jib is not so ba...
