Re: Engine not starting

Not a lot of information to go on but I'd check battery, starter and ground connections. Clean them up and ensure that they are tight.

Re: Head problems…

I had a similar problem with my Johnson head. It was the flapper valve that was the issue. When I actuated the lever to the pump out position it didn't seem to actuate the same as it had before. I disassembled it and found the the flapper valve was jamed up with some kind of corrosion. After cleanin...

Re: CD30 - New running gear

Mine was 38" when used with the MD7A and Walter V-Drive. Then I cut it back to 32 for the Electric Yacht motor.

Re: Important Masthead Article Posted

HI,

I read the article but could not find the job descriptions. I clicked on everything that I found in Masthead but couldn't find them. I also tried the search function but it said "no job descriptions found".

Please let me know where they can be found.

First of all thank you to Bob, Cathy and all others that keep this site going. I echo all the comments about how valuable, useful and emotionally supportive this site is and would also be in favor of a one time assessment to hire someone to update the site if that is what is needed. Keith PS John my...

Re: Converting CD30C from Diesel to Electric propulsion

I finally got a relatively calm day the other day to do some Speed vs Amp trials. I went cross current N to S then back S to N and averaged the speed readings for each amperage. The result turned out better then Electric Yachts estimates which give me more range then anticipated. Speed vs Amps.png W...

Re: Converting CD30C from Diesel to Electric propulsion

Next the cells were moved and everything was ferried out to MOONDANCE for final assembly and sea trials. In the first pic the battery is installed and the Battery Management System (BMS) is wired. There is one ground wire on the 16th cells negative terminal and a positive wire on each of the 16 cell...

Re: Converting CD30C from Diesel to Electric propulsion

Here's a repost of the posts that were lost the other day during site maintenance. The cells arrived mid May in excellent condition no damage at all. They are 3.2 V cells and all were at 3.32-3.33 V but with the flat State of Charge (SOC) curve of LiFePo4 batteries they could be anywhere between 20%...
