Dove Tale Bahamas-Bound (Atlantic Highlands to Oriental NC)
With favorable weather Dove Tale pressed on from Atlantic Highlands on Oct 20, Day 4. The initial objective was to arrive at Cape May, NJ the next day. However, with a forecast of continued good weather we pressed on, arriving at Oregon Inlet at 3 AM on Oct 23, Day 7. Near Cape May, the engine alarm...

Dove Tale Bahamas Bound (Noank, CT to Atlantic Highlands, NJ)
Greetings: On October 17 of this year I departed Noank, CT headed south, ultimately for the Bahamas. With 1 crew/friend Ray we sailed up Long Island Sound, anchoring on Day 1 in Milford Harbor, CT (north of Charles Island) and on Day 2, Port Washington on Long Island. October 19, Day 3, we road the ...

Re: Bilge Stench
I went through that issue with my prior CD, which was the 31. I had the holding tank cleaned out with a chlorox solution and then when everything was dried out I put water into the holding tank and confirmed a leak at the bottom of the holding tank partition aft of the bilge. I included my thread be...

Re: CD 33 Height for calculating transport over land.
I had my CD330 transported from Michigan to Connecticut in 2018. I used 12 ft on the transport contract. I agree that the highest point is the pulpit.
Best of luck

Re: Bahamas books - planning and/or travelogue
The Explorer chart books are good for planning. He could start with the Near Bahamas version. I have also found the Skipper Bob guides to be useful. There are also some good video series on YouTube. Check out “Sailboat Story”

Re: Belowdecks linear drive installation on CD33
I’ve been looking into a Type 1 Linear drive on my CD330 as well. I did reach out to Edson to see if they had any records of their autopilot tiller arm being installed on a CD330 but they could not provide any examples. I have not figured out whether it’s feasible yet. Will post if I find out anythi...

Re: Cockpit control lines
Yes my CD330 Dove Tale came with the lines leading to cockpit. I do raise the main from the cockpit but there is quite a lot of friction. I use a winch once the main is about 2/3 up. Last year was my first season with the boat so I have been experimenting with the lines. When I put her away for the ...

ShipShape Canvas winter cover for 330
Hello I am working with ShipShape Canvas to make a new frameless cover for my 330 located in CT. Planning to have it for next fall (2019). ShipShape is located in Duluth, MN and they don't have a template for a CD33 or CD330. They will travel around the Great Lakes area to make measurements but they...

CD330 Boom
I am looking to purchase a CD 3.5 section boom for my CD330. It came with an old Harken Stoboom but the furling feature is not being used. It is functional but don't really like the way it looks, it has some unfriendly edges at the bottom, which I know would meet my head one day, and it's quite heav...

Re: CD330 ballast
Thanks for all of the responses. I am planning to remove the extra ballast and will see how she sails without it. I can always put it back on if I really miss the extra weight.

CD330 ballast
After 5+ years of enjoying a CD31 I took the plunge and purchased a CD330. She just recently arrived from Whitehall, MI to my homeport in Noank, CT. The picture is of Slainte, soon to be Dove Tale, leaving Crosswinds Marina in Whitehall, MI headed east. After poking around some I noticed that additi...

Trionic Waste Tank
I have a never used Trionic S-H2016 Waste tank (16 gallon capacity). I paid about $150 for it back in 2014. Will sell it for about $50 and it can be picked in the Mystic, CT area. Please PM me if interested.

330 Mast
I have been considering moving up from my CD31 to a CD330. I found one that I like but she has a sleeved mast (just above the spreaders). I've never seen that on a Cape Dory before. Does anyone know if this could have been an original design for some 330's or is it more likely a repair?
Thanks
