Re: Non Skid Project

Russell, The photo appears to indicate a nice result using your choices. Now and already ordered, it looks like Interlux. Desert Sand. I called Robinhood and asked what they are using these days and they said Moon Dust by Interlux . They said the Desert Sand ( Interlux Paint Chip Samples )should be ...

Nice upgrade. Good photos.
Makes traveller adjustments much easier.
Can you imagine what a pain that is when your traveller is located above the Companionway/ cabin top.
Converted PAISAN a few years back to operate same way. Very happy with results.

It seems like on a 33. I can get her heeled over where the pots and pans, dishes, Oil Lamps, are all on the cabin floor, maybe closer to 40-50 deg pitch, but then she begins to dump air over the top of the main while the keel is steadily fighting to keep her from broaching. It would take both wind g...

I had the good fortune of winning a cruising class race about 5 years ago. CD 33 winning a race, imagine that, never thought of her as a speedster. Just had a new suit of sails. Probably should get all the credit, and the great crew. Anyway, reading through the replies I see where mention was made t...

OK. Last week ( Thursday) had a diver dive on the boat. He found many of the holes on the port side raw water intake filled with mud.
Supposedly from Irene. He has cleaned them out.

Let's see what happens next?
Thanks for input.

You have achieved better than showroom condition. Beautiful job.
Question. What do you do with a half million dollar CD? Just kidding.
I'm crazy like that too.

Andy, Aabout 6 weeks ago. I replace the HEX zinc and there was nothing left. Must have completely corroded. Much to my dissapointment. Anyway, 2 weeks ago I checked the same newly replaced zinc and it has begun to corrode but not to the point of needign replacement. The Manual gives you about 5 diag...

35B Manual Maintenance Schedule advises clean proffessionally at 1,000 engine hours ( HEX). Replace HEX zincs at 50 hr intervals. we do that religiously. It seems like we should get a lot more than 400hrs of service from (HEX). Earlier post, I forgot to mention, we changed the impellar twice in the ...

Thermostat woes

Not sure what happened? Westerbeke/Universal 35B with 400 engine hours. Coming into channel, of course, at about 6 knots, running 2800RPMs for about 5 minutes. Prior to that 2000 RPMs for about 15 minutes, enough to douse sails. I look down at instrument panel and Thrmostat reading off the guage, to...
