Dodger glas replacement
Does anyone have experience with the two versions of the Makrolon (Tuffak) polycarbonate dodger glass? I am having a new dodger built and wonder if the Makrolon VR, which is more flexible, has sufficient UV and abrasion resistance compared to the heavier AR which does.

Re: Chartplotter
Thanks for your thoughts on keeping my paddlewheel speed. How about keeping my depth vs removing it and using the Raymarine depth transducer that comes with the Element?

Re: Chartplotter
My conundrum is whether to decommission my speed and depth in favor of the speed and depth provided in the Chartplotter via the thru hull transducer that comes with it. Good idea?

Chartplotter
I am in the hunt for a chartplotter for my CD27. I am considering the Raymarine Element S 7”. Fits my budget. First, any thoughts on that model? Second, what are folks’ experience with the hru hull transducer replacing their depth and speed through water instruments? I have the original Raymarine sp...

Yanmar YSM8 for sale
1981 Yanmar YSM8 for sale. Was in fresh water all but the last 4 years, but spent about 8 years in Scotia in a warehouse before I bought her (i.e. low hours). The engine suffered a “run-away” and is very fixable according to my marina. Otherwise, ran great and reliable. Good for a slight rebuild/rep...

Re: CD27 re-power to Beta
Update. Scotia’s new Beta 14 coming soon. Boat yard decided to ise white oak to fair the forward mounting stingers to fit the Beta, rather than custom brackets to fit the weird high stern mounts situation that fit my Yanmar. Saves a boatload of money and time. Any opinions out there about this? Many...

Re: Wanted Control panel for YSM8
I am removing my YSM8 from Scotia and repowering over the winter with a Beta 14. My contriol panel and housing could be available. It is countersunk into the cockpit starboard bulkhead, aft. No tach.
