no main sail? if you were trying to reach along comfortably and enjoy a beverage i think you've figured something out. if you are trying to get somewhere upwind raise the main and shrink the gen to 110 or 130 and see what it does.

i had a evin 6 yacthwin in mine that was a beast to remove. if i ever use again it will be with the small 4 strokes. i did find pics where someone had modified base of well to more readily accomodate engine and removal. best solution. not too traumatic.

no hinge a fork lift used to lift small keel boats and power boats can do it. tie mast around half way up to fork. lift slightly and walk base forward as you lower. hinged step you you need a frame of some kind of rig or help.
