Re: What's the deal with my waterline?

The deal with your waterline? - it isn’t straight, from the factory. It’s almost as if they followed the line parallel to the sheer. I had mine corrected with a laser level, it was nearly 2” high at the bow. Every 22 I’ve ever seen has the same swoop at the bow. Next time I’m near the boat, I’ll mea...

Sole Mate

I've been thinking about installing a teak cabin sole and was wondering if anyone out there was considering the same and would like to split the cost of a sheet of teak & rubber ply from Boulter in Somerville MA? I could probably be convinced to deliver your half (2X8) sheet in the range of coas...

Re: CD22 Spring Sail

Sorry for the exceptionally late reply, I've been away from the board all summer. Thanks for all the complements, I'll pass on the kind words to my personal maritime photo journalist. Hope to have a name and port for next season. In regards to lifelines, I have all the stanchions and the rear pulpit...

Re: CD30 For Sale- Portland, Maine

To anyone in the market for a CD30 (or any CD in this range) I would highly recommend taking a look at Guppy. My family and I managed to go aboard this past weekend and It was apparent she is very well cared for. The few modifications (sail cabinet, etc.) were tastefully crafted and made the boat be...

CD22 Spring Sail

Little Big Boat.
Shifty wind on the St.George never really settled, but a beautiful day and a perfect crew.

CD22 Headsail Survey

What are folks using for headsails on their CD22's? Do you have a quiver, or one catch-all? Do you complement with a/symmetrical downwind sails? What do you like, what would you do different if you had a loft in the backyard? I know the 135 is standard "all-boat-anywhere" issue, and I know...

RT.

Last September I spent my honeymoon on a CD22 cruising the coast of Maine for three weeks, and I am still married.

I have to concur with Gary’s assessment.
Cruising on either the 22 or Ty could perhaps be better described as “water campingâ€

cd22 aft stateroom

I think this is what Gary was referring to in his post. The additional center cushion is about 24"X48" and sits on three removable 1/2" ply panels set on teak rails. The ladder was removed and one panel is left in place as a companionway step, just ahead of the cooler. not the best ph...

more cd22 motor well

sorry for the late reply- The vertical walls are solid glass. As for the opening, the edge was cleaned up and painted with gel-coat along with the rest of locker's interior. What would I do different? I wouldn't be shy about taking out the entire aft section of the cockpit to better access the contr...

cd 22 motor-well

hope you've all managed to find some time on the water this summer, Thought I'd pass on some notes about the well- It's pretty great over-all. Like most things in life, it needs to be tweaked a bit. Hard to do the math, but it looks like this: It's much, much easier to manage the controls. No more h...

These are a few pics of a recent modification to a CD22. For those who may wish to rid their transom of certain unsightly appendages, I highly recommend the craftsmen at Shaw Yacht Rockland ME. Bernie & Tim are skilled surgeons. This mod is untested, however, it should behave as a less accessibl...
