Re: Triad trailer for Cape Dory 25D

Did you find a trailer? I donated my Typhoon to the Palm Beach Sailing Club along with a Traid trailer. The last I heard they had done nothing with the boat. It was supposed to be used for teaching ASA 101 keel boat certifications. Try calling them?

Re: 1973 Cape Dory typhoon - $6,500

I have had the pleasure of sailing this beauty with Tim on Charleston Harbor and can tell you this boat is sail away. Not a project boat at all. Tim added new North sails recently and the boat was hauled and painted last summer. I have a Typhoon or this boat would not be for sale!

Maybe not worthy of the beautiful gift but one of my favorites - "If you don't tie good knots, tie a lot of them!"

Circumnavigation of Peanut Island

Sunday 11/14 Easy Rider and crew launched from Currie Park in West Palm Beach with Peanut Island as our destination. Winds out of the NW made for a perfect day on the water. Used the Navionics iPhone app to track our route which can be seen by CLICKING HERE . Navionics stats claim we hit 3.9 knots b...

Typhoon Trailer Loading

Going deeper was not an option! I launched near high tide which I thought would be best. Got as far as I could and had to rock the boat to get her to move. Probably 'cause Win had not sailed her for so long so she was stuck! Returned same day near low tide and was concerned, but it was easier to ret...

Typhoon on Trailer

Jim - seems to me you will have to float the boat to reposition. I assume you are not happy with the keel being off center? When launching, I found that letting down the rear pads on the trailer was helpful in getting the boat to float away. When loading, you can play with the height of the forward ...

East Rider Sails Again

For those who knew Winthrop's Typhoon Easy Rider, she is now mine in South Florida. I received the boat and about 6 boxes plus the cabin was stuffed full of gear. It has been fun figuring out what Win had in mind for all of the gear - "oh THAT's where that goes!" Bottom and boot stripe are...

Typhoon Easy Rider

Just want to say that I am the one who bought Easy Rider and I can't wait to get her in the Atlantic. I really appreciate working with Win and wish him well on his move.

Typhoon Tiller Dimensions

Thanks Bob. I think I found the answer by searching deeper in the archives of the message board to a tiller discussion in 2007. Found H&L marine in California. You are correct about the 5" drop. It is the right one.

Great name for your boat. I know, I've had that name for 51 years!

Typhoon Tiller Dimensions

Awaiting shipment of recently purchased Ty with broken tiller. Wanted to know if anyone has the proper length, drop, rise and butt end dimensions for the Ty tiller? Would like to order with confidence and be able to install sooner than later. Here is a link with various stock tillers. Which one is c...
