Darin and Jim thanks for your quick response. Darin, I have located a 8 hp, four stroke, high thrust engine and will be looking at it this weekend. Yamaha looks like it makes two 8hp models. Is the 8 hp, four stroke, high thrust the one you have in your boat. Again, I appreciate your help.

I have a cape dory 26 for the past 26 years. I am looking to repower. I have looked at the new yamaha, honda and tohutsu 9.9 hp, X-long but they are to large for the transom well.
