Re: Slip tie-up advice, CD25
More excellent points. I think the tide swing is around 7' here. That last setup would avoid any hardware changes. A genoa track cleat would be useful, but they start for 1" tracks and IIRC the CD25 is 3/4". There is also no chock on the starboard side stern cleat.

Re: Slip tie-up advice, CD25
Thank you for the responses, and more info. The rings on the forward pilings are set up like these https://www.dockhardware.com/product/tide-guide-set-tide-guidering-new/ (the rails are mounted to the 'aft' facing side of the pilings). Yes, best case seems to be a new set of midship cleats for sprin...

Slip tie-up advice, CD25
It's getting time to refresh my docklines, so I'm looking for improvement. Setup is floating dock perpendicular to the boats, with pilings and sliding rings at the water side opening of each slip. (feast your eyes on my mad MS paint skillz) I park stern in, with lines from the stern cleats to adjace...

Re: Water seeping through Bilge Floor
Could this be condensation dripping down from the underside of the cabin sole?

Re: starting a flooded 4-stroke
On my Tohatsu 6, sometimes the trick that works is manually emptying the carb bowl and starting over.
FWIW I run mine dry after every trip.

Another vote for the Boomkicker. I have one on my 25. You will have to lock the spring loaded gooseneck (drill, bolt through) if the 'D' also has a roller boom.

Re: Cape Dory 25 taking on water ????
The bilge pump through hull is accessible and easy enough to plug. Just a thought for more testing.
The only other starboard through hull on mine is the spedo. It's under the waterline at rest but it wouldn't hurt to check it.
Good luck.

Re: Powering the CD25
Between being in a marina, the moored barges and occasional crew team practices, I use my OB more than I'd like, and haul it in and out of the laz between most trips to prevent fouling. There's quite a jump in price to the Torqueedo external battery bank motors. Yes, Lithium Ion is best, but the wei...

Re: Powering the CD25
My CD25 came with rubber dorades on the laz cover. The PO had a 9.9 as well, so he may have added them.
Adjusting the idle speed on a Tohatsu 6 is pretty easy. One screw. Experiment to your liking.

Re: Going Electric on a CD25
Weight aside (being a fraction of 5300#) , assuming you could keep them topped off, and dollar for dollar, how many hours at 1/2 throttle could you store with a small bank of 2-4 cheapo lead-acid batteries?

Re: Going Electric on a CD25
Very interesting.
What will you be doing for batteries (type, how many and where)? Will you be recharging with solar at the mooring?
