CD28 with Club Foot
I had the original club foot setup on my 28. When I purchased her - I had never even really seen one before and was certain I would convert to roller furling. After using the club foot - I REALLY like it. It makes for some easy tacking. However - it 5-10 knots - I agree that you would probably want ...

CD28 Toe and Rub Rail
Matt, I replaced all the toe and rub rails on a CD28 I previously owned. I spent a lot of hours trying to get some exact dimensions - my teak was SO badly worn - pretty much all the screw heads were showing. Since I was replacing it all - I ended up just picking some dimensions and going with them. ...

I recommend Tohatsu
The Tohatsu 6hp Sailpro will fit the hole at the base of the well and is not too heavy. However - the clearance on the inside from the top of the mounting blocking to the well cover was not enough space to allow the cover to close. Since the bracket seemed a little under-built anyways - I picked up ...

Bouncy or Hollow?
I kind of have the same question - found this old post from a few years ago. Hoping maybe I can get some insight without cutting into things. My coachroof area (from the aft most end and moving forward about 3 feet) sounds "hollow" when I pound on it. As I move forward of that and get clos...

2nd (or 3rd) the others
I agree with others - I have done it - but not on the exterior - only on interior trim. I had a bunch of color discoloration to the teak plywood on the interior due to water spots. I sanded but couldn't get them all out. So - since I had some laying around - I put a coat of Cetol Natural Teak on eve...

If you don't find one-
I think I have all the open bronze turnbuckles from a CD28. Off hand - I am not sure what different sizes they are - probably bigger than you need. But one of the smaller ones may fit. I will dig them out and check this weekend. If one fits - you are welcome to it.

28 Outboard
Jim, Welcome to the board - I believe you will find a wealth of valuable knowledge here. I know the question has been asked several times - and hopefully my personal insight will help you and maybe others in the future. Let me start out by saying that my opinions here are based on personal first han...

Soda Blasting
Some updating on "soda blasting". My plan has always been to have the bottom of my 25 "soda blasted". As I am getting closer to having this done - I called the guy doing this last week and had a discussion. I am no expert - but this is what he told me. Just like sand - soda is si...

Wanted: Jib or Genoa for a CD25 with a Wire Luff
I am looking for a jib or genoa that will fit a CD25 that has a wire installed in the Luff. I guess these were typical type sails for the older Schaefer Free Furl Systems. I currently have no furling system installed on my boat - and a friend gave me one of these older Schaefer Systems. I have every...

Don't do it for the lead
I know of a guy here in Florida that makes a living off of "decommissioning" old boats. In the event of significant damage (or something like that) - I understand that it may not be possible to repair some boats. But this individual takes otherwise decent boats - cuts them up - and sells t...

Calcutta Offshore
I too usually go with the cheapo sunglasses. I was recently given a pair of Calcutta Offshore Polarized Sunglasses purchased at West Marine as a gift. The price is very easy on the wallet - I think they were about $20. I like them a lot. Seem to be very well built and fit quite comfortably. Probably...
