Re: Non skid
Thx all A lot of people have used kiwi grip and are happy with the results I think I will go with a qt and do the cockpit sole and go from there if I like the results😊 Pete Couple things about kiwi grip. I have found it works best for me if I tape and then apply it very thin with a foam roller. Pul...

Re: Where to locate extra batteries on CD 28
I have two Trojan T-105 6 volt deep cycle batteries wired in series under the quarter berth on my 36. Has worked very well as the house bank. Inexpensive, long lived, and can be charged with any standard alternator. AGMs are sealed so I don't see how it will be a problem. Take the weight shift into ...

Re: Anchor Light Help for Typhoon Weekender
I have anchored my boat overnight hundreds of times. My anchor light is either a kerosene anchor light with a fresnel lens or a Davis LED 360 that comes on a 15-20 12v extension which I plug into the boats DC system. The kerosene light I secure with a rolling hitch to the forestay about 6' above the...

Re: CD 36 Rudder post pitting
On my 36 the rudder passes up through the hull and then regroups a stuffing box with very stiff hose and flax wadding with a tightening nut. Just like on a prop shaft though I use gore text wadding for that. Anyway, then the rudder post is supported by the self aligning Edson bearing on the steel cr...

Re: Dove Tale Bahamas-Bound (Atlantic Highlands to Oriental NC)
Well, I'm a little late to this post. Dove Tale, you are a lucky man to have run Oregon inlet at night in a sailboat and unfamiliar with it too. I have lived in coastal NC for more than 25 years. The inlets on the outer banks can be extraordinarily dangerous especially at night. I was not there and ...

Re: Builder's Certificate?
Are builder's certificates and Line Drawings the same thing or related and if so how? My understanding is that builder's certificates and line drawings are different. Line drawings are are drafted by naval architects (Carl Alberg in our case), and would likely cover the model run. Builder's certifi...

Re: Builder's Certificate?
Thanks Carl. I'm certainly interested in CD 36 builders certificate and line drawings. Thanks for any assistance you or anyone in the NE fleet can provide.

Re: Builder's Certificate?
Does CDSOA know which certificates are saved? Are builder's certificates and Line Drawings the same thing or related and if so how?
Do we have any of this info on the CD36?
Many thanks to the brain trust for any definitive info.

Re: New Member with "Free" CD 10 Project
Very nice. I want to think there is a special place in heaven for those that breathe new life in to old boats.
This will be enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Re: Leoma hull to deck joint
JD
Well finally it's finished and you have it behind you. I'm sure you'll figure out a long term solution for the bulwarks you will be satisfied with. The important thing is the boat is stronger and hopefully leak free--at least at the hull deck joint. You've worked hard. Enjoy it.

Re: Deviation Diagram
I calculated the deviation on the move using a combination of easily identifiable landmarks as range markers aligned with the current and the rest with GPS set to true north. It's within a couple degrees which is better than anything I can steer. I applaud your determination to calculate it. So many...
