Heck its in the seventies here. I have been adding a SSB, and a below deck auto pilot. With all of this I am going to enlarge the electrical panel and add a linklite monitor.
I guess the good side to living up north is that you get to stop spending money for a little while.

CD31 tiller arm
I am trying to install a below deck auto pilot. Space is limited on the rudder shaft and when installing the tiller arm below the quadrant the arm hits the quadrant and the quadrant stop.
I would like advice from anyone who has installed a tiller arm on a CD31.

We just bought a new M710 and AT130 tuner. Still might be interested in your radio for our trawler.

questions
Can someone make sense of the choices in Pactor modems? There are some big difference in price and the website I looked at just confused me. I will most likely get a refurbished M710 from Ebay. Also, are the at140 tuners all the same? Some adds say it is for the M802. There are also some At 130s out...

I use a 2hp Honda long shaft on my TY. I had a short shaft but it would not do the trick.
I also own a CD31 and in my opinion the TY is a stiffer boat. It also handles following seas quite well. It is a FUN FUN boat!

With the two boats that I rolled and tipped I started out with expensive brushes and in both cases I wound up using CHEEP foam brushes. With the bristol brushes I found that the paint wanted to harden on the brush making streaks and leaving me having to stop everything to clean the brush. Meanwhile ...

Ok, I am lost here. If I buy a Grundig G3 receiver can I get weather off shore on my lap top? If so would it be a weather map? This high tech stuff baffles me sometimes. How would I hook the radio to my laptop?

The use of AIS is growing by leaps and bounds. We have not had ours a year yet and we are seeing more and more pop up on our screen. So far I do not know of any local shrimpers in the Corpus area with AIS. I have noticed big drilling platforms with it though. One thing that is a problem is that when...

The GPS antenna is so that the transponder knows where it is and when you set the unit up you will be required to register where on the boat it is located. We have an ACR transponder and it has worked well. It shows up on both our chart plotters. The additional VHF antenna could come in handy if you...

By far the nicest marina is Corpus Christi city marina, where we live. The slips on the MORF dock run about 140 a month. 27 feet might be pushing it in those slips but I do think there is a Catalina 27 there. Prices go up from there. There is a travel lift but I don't remember the price. There are t...

If memory serves me right, when we stopped by to look at Troys boat we chained one end of the pole to a beam in the roof of his shop and kept snatching it until it freed up.

If you are close to your boat sell it yourself. You are the person who is most knowledgeable about it. Tell buyers in person about the wonderful trip you took. Let them know about the CDSOA. When they leave have them feeling that they are like the rest of us CD nuts. We spent three weeks traveling t...
