I also have removed seacocks

After many many hours of thinking about, trying and spending money, to install seacocks into MoJac (a 1979 CD25 - I know the discussion started with a Ty but I believe the same issues arise with the CD25) I have finally settled on the same exact set up as the "picture above". Thru hull, do...

What to do with my tiller

WOW!!! Thank you to all for all the great feed back to my question. This is really great to see sooooo many CD'ers chime in on how they have handled their tillers. This group as usual is a great resource for many many different areas. With responce to the "wheel guys" out there, I would gu...

What do you do with the tiller at the end of the day???

Well all is well in the world as MoJac my CD25 is back in her natural environment and swinging happily at the mooring. As I started to button things up at the end of the day on Fri I noticed some excessive wear (obviously from last year) on my tiller cover. This, I am sure, is from where I tie off t...

Joe, Good info re: "D-ring / backing plate" although I've never had any problems I'll be inspecting post hast. Nothing is more annoying than losing the dinghy while under way or worst after everything is buttoned up on board and you have to get under power off the mooring to chase it down ...

I'm interested in your results

Jay B. I have a CD25 and a Walker Bay 8 as well, and have a new mooring location this year. In the past I had "on land" storage for the dinghy at the end of the day, and towed it behind the boat when sailing. Worked great, this year with the new mooring location I'm on a waiting list for &...

Grounding plate on CD25

I have a 1979 CD25 hull 712 which I bought several years ago. It had a grounding plate installed, which "appears" to be factory installed, maybe... Installation is neat, clean and a far a I can tell appears to be professionally installed. Thru bolts @ the backing plate are connected with f...

New CD25 owner in Salem MA

I just launched a new to me Cape Dory 25 that I actually traded a 19 foot sloop of the same vintage for. She had been on the hard for the last seven years and after allot of elbow grease and a few fixes here and there she is now in the water in Eliot, ME. I hope (pending good weather) to be sailing ...
