Bullseye
Tom, It sounds like a nice Bullseye. I have both a Bullseye and a Typhoon DS, very similar boats. Bullseyes with wooden seats are pretty rare and sought after. I would suggest that you list the boat with Cape Cod Shipbuilding. They list many Bullseyes from all over the country. I am sure that Wendy ...

What Sized Jib on a Typhoon Daysailer
I have owned a Daysailer for about three years and I am curious in regard to the size of the jib used by others. When I bought the boat it had what I believe to be its original sales that included what I measured to be a 70% jib. I sailed the boat with these for the first year and found it difficult...

NMP
My suggestion is a NMP (N-Methyl Pyrrolidone) based paint stripper. NMP will dissolve almost anything and is reasonably safe. Check the label.

CD 10 For Sale
I have a neighbor in Marion, MA that has a CD 10 for sale. It is a 1973 model which he has owned since new. It is complete with sail, rudder, center board and curved rowing oars. It appears to be in excellent condition. I do not know the price. I have no part in this and I am providing this notice t...

Typhoon
I bought a Honda 2 to replace the 8hp outboard that came with my Typhoon. It has been trouble free for almost four years. It is pretty simple and easy to service.

Have You Considered a Daysailer?
The cockpit in a Daysailer is much larger than a Weekender and the lack of self bailing means you can bring along the beefiest guests that will fit. I routinely carry four adults and think that six would be no problem.

St. Angelos
I've had really good luck with St. Angelo's. They have a mountain of teak of almost any dimension you need. The scrap that you are seeking is likely to cost $150. Given the labor required in most woodworking projects and their expected lifetime I think this is a justified expense.

Jim,
If I am not mistaken the photos shown are not of a Typhoon.

Mast Attachment for Vang
I have a Ty Daysailer (which has external halyards). I rigged a vang three years ago using a through bolted bail that I purchased from Rig Rite - pretty simple and effective.

Motor Size
In a previous life I had a CD 22 which came with a 2 stroke 8hp. The weight of the motor upset the trim so much that a PO put a few lead bricks in the rope locker to offset. I think that it was overkill. The 8hp had more than enough power for Narragansett Bay so I think that a 5hp would be plenty.

Genoa Blocks
Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried the nearby consignment shops with no luck. I also know that I can buy new slides/blocks from Schaefer et. al. but I was trying to avoid paying $200 for a pair. I was hoping that someone had upgraded to 1" track and kept the old hardware.

Teak for Coamings
Where are you located? I had good luck with St Angelo's hardwood. They literally have a warehouse filled with tropical hardwoods - mainly teak. I made new coamings for my Ty Daysailer and had no difficulty finding the necessary 1" x 9" x 9' planks. They are in Tiverton, RI. I believe that ...
