Re: Typhoon Fueling
I can probably get an hour out of a tank of gas. But then I have to refuel! I refueled out on the water today because I can't do it at the dock. I carry a small 3 gallon tank. I'll look into the MSR bottles.

Typhoon Fueling
I have a Typhoon with a Honda 2hp that I keep in a slip at a marina that does not allow portable gas cans on the docks. If you need fuel you are required to go to the gas dock. The Honda only has a 1/4 gallon internal gas tank. I find myself fueling out on the water to avoid doing it at the dock. Do...

Buy a piece of rub rail off a Typhoon?
I was wondering if anyone has a piece of rub rail off a typhoon they are willing to part with. I have about a one foot section on my typhoon that is damaged and I like to scarf in a new piece if possible. Rub rail off another cape dory may work as well?? I'd gladly pay you whatever you feel its wort...

Weekender standing rigging
I'd like to purchase new standing rigging for my 1979 weekender this winter. Is there someplace where I can purchase this all at once (kind of like a kit??) without having to measure, figure out sizes, etc.? also, does it make sense to upgrade to more heavy duty rigging while I'm at it? Thanks in ad...

Free Typhoon Sail Cover
I just got a new sail cover made. If anyone is interested, they can have my old pacific blue cover for the cost of shipping. I think $15 should cover it. Its still in in pretty good condition. Here is a picture of it on my typhoon.... http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs162.snc1/6054_10477...

Thanks Everyboday for the advice
I purchased the Typhoon in Sodus Bay. I worked out a deal to have the owners deliver so now it is sitting in my yard. Thanks to everyone who posted advice. It really helped in the buying process. The boat is in great shape... just needs a lot of cleaning.

Are there any problems specific to Typhoons that I should look out for? I know about the sagging roof on some Typhoons and soft spots on the deck... anything else I should watch for?

Thanks Seawolf. I actually responded to that ad back in April and was told that the boat would not be ready to be shown until the first week in May. I just sent them another e-mail... :) I'm thinking I might need something that is ready to go without many repairs. I don't mind doing the cosmetic stu...

Typhoon Purchase Advice
Hi Everybody. This is my first time posting, but I have been visiting this board for a while. I live in Buffalo, NY and have been searching for a Typhoon for about a year. I'm new to sailing and this will be my first boat. I finally might have the opportunity to purchase a typhoon weekender but it n...
