The rudder shaft on the CD30K has a (for no other word) nipple that over time wears flat.....allowing the shaft to have play. I put stainless washers to take up the space, but not sure how long it will be before they wear.....they have been in there over a year and no noticeable wear so far.......th...

Bottom paint color
Don t understand all this about color????? if your boat is in the water what difference does it make other than longevity......... I use red in Carolinas and it gives the best service for lasting. I haul every 2.5 - 3 yrs.......and the old blue bottom paint or white gelcoat is showing in places........

Not sure about the 33, but on 30s the thru hull will syphon the sea back into the bilge when the left rail is heeled and sea condition such....and thru hull on port side......sailing more level or on other tack stops it.....but an hourly bilge check is not enough - if you are having a great sail hee...

There is a reason Cape Dory rigged the boats like they did. On the 30k I have not changed anything from original.....not sure if sizes are the same as your boat..... I have had good luck with the rigging as original and it is standing the test over time....so many factors I guess determine how thing...

A lot of folks say that vinegar once a month and a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil once a week keeps them running well. I have used both, but not at the frequency that most recommend. I still have a small amount of the lube that comes with Wilcox repair kit....and have used alternating with vege...

I saw the setup at the Morehead City boat show I think last year, the system looked good..... I think was 18 hp.....the only drawback I saw was the waterpump would have to be accessed thru the cockpit lockers....you would have to go down in there to work on it. Not sure if a bearing or bushing water...

The volvo has always had enough power for my vessel....but I have a sailboat, and sail is what I do.....those who have schedules to meet might be better served with a powerboat......the volvo will hold with 50+ knots on nose and 2 sec. between 8 ft seas....until it overheats from uncovered water int...
