Of course, first, stay on board. But if that strategy fails... The discussion of towing a 300' line intrigues me. Most of the negative comments focused on the ensuing inability to pull oneself back to the boat (without drowning), even in you can catch the line. Personally, I would feel like just so ...

I second (or is that 'third', or 'fourth' or...) Kiwi Grip by Pachena. It is absolutely simple to apply, covers all kinds of 'oops' and seems to hold up well. It is also easy to touch-up. This is one of those things I got lucky with in my project, and I WILL use it again, and recommend it also. SFre...

Free! Schaefer Roller Furler foil
I have 26 feet of foil for a Schaefer CF-700 Snap Furl that I don't need and can't use. This is the extruded PVC piece that fits over the headstay and holds the sail. It is unused.

Good Reading
FYI; I came across an interesting book that may be worthy of your onboard library. It is "Why Didn't I Think of That?" by John and Susan Roberts. It contains "1,198 tips from 222 sailors on 120 boats from 9 countries." I bought it from Alibris.com for under $10. Here's the link: ...

Life Ropes?
I need to replace the lifelines, and I'm considering using rope, mostly because I think they look better and feel better than wire. I've seen it done, but never had a chance to examine how it is done. Has anyone explored this option? Is there a safety issue? Comments? Suggestions? Opinions? Ideas? S...
