That is indeed a beautiful finish, Dick!
So, I have a question.
Can you make it simple for me and be SPECIFIC on a brand name? That would save me the trouble of researching....
Thanks again.

Getting close to splash...
After 4 years of work, I'm getting very close to completion of the restoration of 1981 CD 25 #794. I was going to name her "Exit Strategy", but Zeida of Bandolera II convinced me that name was not adequately ebullient, so I have decided on "PEARL" instead... a jewel of the sea. h...

Jim; I bought a Schaefer CF-700 Snap Furl http://www.furling.com/snapfurl.html , but I haven't splashed yet, so I can't say any more than that. If you decide to go with this system, I've found good prices on Schaefer gear here: http://www.pyacht.com . Specifically, for the CF700 Snapfurl: http://www...

Thank you Zeida! I'm considering your suggestion for her name. Randy, is there any particular reason why you want to go with mahogany? The coaming boards have a bend to them. Teak will bend into place, but I think mahogany would be a good bit harder to bend, and may require steaming. I would reconsi...

There certainly were changes in the interior of the CD25 over the years. There was a shift from Herreshoff (sp?) straight interior bulkheads, to curving bulkhead edges. There was a shift from plastic unopening portlights to opening bronze oval ports. There was no change in the overall design of hull...

Political Message
The e-mail mentioned was never posted on this board, it was merely inadvertently mailed to some members. It was an unintentional error which I'm sure Troy has already corrected. I respect Troy for acknowledging his error and offering an apology to any recipients. Apology accepted, Troy, and a toast ...

Since you used a fuel stabilizer, I would be inclined to mix fresh gas with the old gas and use it in the outboard. The biggest threat with old gas is by gumming up the carburetor. The fuel stabilizer would minimize that and the new gas would compound the cure. A drop in octane rating may be a conce...

What a pretty boat! Cape Dorys have such classic beauty, and you have served it well! Congratulations!
Nobody here has been able to find a source for bronze rub rail...as far as I know... so take good care of it!

I agree, Cathy, the logo is spectacular, and adds a real professional touch that I wish I had the skill to duplicate. Good thinking, beautifully executed.
I'm jealous!

Thank you Forrest! That is very helpful indeed. It seems fabrication is the only viable alternative. I have been unable to locate a source... perhaps because I'm not sure what the fitting is called, which makes it difficult to search for. I appreciate your photos. Thanks for taking the time. Where, oh where, did you get the sliding bar hinge? This is exactly what I've been looking for and can't find. Do you have a source? Please, OH PLEASE!
