boat and a great place to sail out of!
Although Ohio is my home port, I've sailed from Solomon's Island (Spring Cove Marina) a few times and always enjoy it immensely.
Unless my memory is faulty, this is the Hooper Island Light..

Another, better, example is
a self-bailer in a sailing dinghy. There are several designs (a throttle-body thing that lowers into the water, a wedge that swings down aft, etc) but they all work on the bernoulli principle. There might not be a problem, but it might be an issue at higher speeds. Certainly not at low speeds. Maybe...

facing fwd
Mathias, Is there a risk of starving the engine if they were facing aft? (think Bernoulli). On the ferry pictured below, water to the main engines and other needs was drawn from a manifold that spanned the engine room. However, the manifold was small enough that with extra pumps drawing from it the ...

It might be that they charge in increments
Hi, Leonard
It might be that they charge in increments rather than by actual measurement. Your agreement/paperwork should clarify that.
Kind of like paying for a 30' slip when your boat is 27'.

details here...
Hi, Ron
http://www.capedory.org/specs/brochures/CD10_14.pdf
Shows how it is rigged. The halyard runs down to the bow and then aft to a cleat. The sheet, as is typical on small dinghies, is not cleated but just hand-held so it can be dumped quickly in the event of a gust.

If I were free, I'd jump on the chance!
It's a long haul down to Florida from Ohio! A couple of friends of mine (who live closer to Florida) sailed their 15' and 17' boats over to the Dry Tortugas a couple years ago and had a grand time! http://alt.coxnewsweb.com/palmbeachpost/photos/accent/marooned/ Have fun! I safety wire all turnbuckles except the backstay because it is the one that I loosen for lowering the mast.
Over the course of a two week cruise, I find that I have to tighten it a couple of time because it does unscrew itself.
