Cape Dory Northeast Fleet membership renewals
Hey everyone, I am Doug Jesseman, your Northeast Fleet secretary/ treasurer. In the beginning of January, I sent out over 200 renewal notices out. We are almost half way done. If you have not done so, please send in your membership renewal now. I prefer to work on my Cape Dory 36 in March to get rea...

Re: CD28 Butterfly Hatch
I built a butterfly hatch for my CD36, replacing the hatch. I built one out of pine boards first to make sure the new hatch would fit, then built one out of cedar meranti. "Cetol light" will make it look like teak anyways. Teak was way out of my range. Another Cape Dory 36 owner has the &q...

Re: CD36 Height for Overland Transport
I used "uship.com" as a bidding site. You have to be patient, but that web site can save you alot of money. I had my CD36 moved from Maryland to Orwell, Vermont with a truck and trailer that would open to the back for depositing her to jack stands. The problem is not height, but the 10' 6&...

Re: 2021 Dues?
The Northeast Fleet does not have a multi year membership plan at this time. We only have a $25/year plan. As treasurer/membership chairman, it would be absolutely wonderful to have all of the renewals completed by the end of December, 2020.

Cape Dory Northeast Fleet
Hi fellow Northeast Fleet Cape Dory sailors, It is time to renew your 2021 membership in our organization. This evening I have filled 140 envelopes to remind you to send in your renewal. This, oddly, gave me time to think about what "Cape Dory yachts" really have meant to me. My first &quo...

Cape Dory Organization
Hi Everyone, There appears to be a time in our Cape Dory organization that we need someone to step up, with lots of time, to be the commodore of "Cape Dory Org." We have many members that love Cape Dory yachts, which also own them, that would consider leading our organization. Now is the t...

Re: Almost lost our boat today.
Kathy, Spartan marine clearly informed us that each sea cock is mated. Never mix the cones to the outside part. Milled to perfection, one at a time. Did the marina guys check each one?

Re: CD 36 Autopilot
I installed a raymarine unit last winter on my CD36, #5, 1979. I still have the wooden template that I made. It attaches to the hull on the port side. I welded the final version out of stainless steel and epoxied and glassed it to the hull. The angles of the mounting plate are critical. I would be m...

Re: NE Fleet /Derektor Robinhood Yard Sale
Wow !! It will be great to see the original Cape Dory parts being sold. There are toe and rub rails from the original millings and many other parts. Last time to be offered. I will be there too. Thanks Bob for helping this event to happen.
